Point Blank is now offering a new 14 day free trial for its beginners and children’s classes. No commitment or contracts, you can just call down and try out an exciting sport in our dedicated facility. Classes focus on the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling and kickboxing. Head coach Tim Murphy had the following to say “We have started offering a free trial period to allow people to call down and try out something a little bit different without making a big commitment up front. Training in MMA and BJJ is a lot of fun, you will learn new skills and you will get fitter doing it. Why not call down and try it out?”
Classes for adults and teenagers run Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm, children’s classes every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. Point Blank Gym is located in a large full time premise in 30 Glenrock, Ballybane Industrial Estate and has everything the next potential ultimate fighting champion would need, including a large matted area, male and female changing rooms and a full competition size cage.
Here are some common misconceptions that some people may have:
“I need to be fit before I begin training”
This couldn’t be further from the truth! Classes in Point Blank are suitable for people of all ages and all fitness levels. It’s natural to be afraid of not being fit enough to train, but it’s actually less of an issue than you might think it would be. Getting you fit in the coaches job! If you come training consistently you will get fitter every time you do it.
“Point Blank Gym is just for fighters and young competitors”
We have competitors who take part in MMA, BJJ and Kickboxing competitions, however the majority of our members are here for reasons other than to compete. The majority just want to train, get fit, have fun and learn a functional martial art. If you want to compete then you will get that opportunity but nobody will ever be put into under any pressure to do so.
”I have no previous experience training martial arts or I am too old”
Our youngest member is 6 years old, our oldest is 55! No previous experience is required or expected for those looking to start training. Our classes cater for students of all levels from beginner, to intermediate and advanced. Our classes are structured so that from day one you will be working with others of your own level and with instructors to give you personal attention.
